The method for optimization control over the primary air of the coal-fired generator set comprises the steps that S1, highest values of the minimum air-coal ratio for raw coal grinding, the minimum air-coal ratio for pulverized coal preheating and the minimum manual air-coal ratio are selected, and the number of a coal pulverizer with the maximum coal feeding ratio and the corresponding coal feeding ratio are determined; S2, primary air ratios A required for grinding and preheating of the coal pulverizer with the maximum coal feeding ratio are calculated through the selected minimum air-coal ratios and the coal feeding ratio corresponding to the coal pulverizer with the maximum coal feeding ratio, a primary air ratio B for pulverized coal conveying is determined, the highest values of the primary air ratios A and the primary air ratio B are selected, and the minimum primary air ratio required for operation of the coal pulverizer with the maximum coal feeding ratio is obtained; and S3, the output of the primary air fans is adjusted until the total primary air ratio of the coal pulverizer with the maximum coal feeding ratio meets requirements of the minimum primary air ratio.
