[0050] A case study was carried out on litter in a typical subtropical forest ecosystem. Three 0.5m×0.5m litter survey quadrats were selected in the sample plot, and the litter samples were collected in the undecomposed layer and semi-decomposed layer, and brought back to the laboratory. , weighed with an electronic balance with an accuracy of 0.01g, dried and weighed the litter, and calculated the litter reserves of different forest communities in the subtropical zone as shown in Table 1. Abstract

The present invention discloses an accurate measuring method for forest litter water holding capacity, the method comprises following steps: investigating litters of different representative forest land types in the field, according to a collection of litter samples, moisture content of the litters and a litter reserves measurement, and a litter water holding capacity measurement of a semi-decomposed layer or an undecomposed layer,taking and placing certain amount of air-dried litter samples in a nylon mesh and then placing in a plastic pot containing certain amount of water, according to different soaking time, taking out and hanging the litters till not dripping, then weighing the litters, in the same time, replacing the same soaking plastic pot each time, settling water that soaks the litters in each plastic pot, pouring out supernatant, and transferring sediments to a beaker or a small stainless steel pot, and drying to constant weight, weighing the sediments with an electronic scale with an accuracy of 0.01 g, and recording the amount of the sediments produced by each litter sample during different soaking periods. The method has strong operability, simple and convenient operation, quantitatively analyzes litter water holding capacity through indoor quantitative analysis operation, and provides data support for forest litter water source conservation function.
