Provided is an apparatus for producing a three-dimensional shaped article and a method for producing a three-dimensional shaped article. The apparatus for producing a three-dimensional shaped article(2000) produces a three-dimensional shaped article by stacking layers, and includes: an ejecting section (1230) capable of ejecting a flowable material that contains a powder, a solvent, and a binderwhich constitute the three-dimensional shaped article (500), based on data; a heating section (1000) for heating the flowable material ejected from the ejecting section (1230); and a controlling section (400) for controlling the ejecting section (1230) and the heating section (1000), in which the controlling section (400) divides data of the layer for one layer of the three-dimensional shaped article (500), out of the data, into a plurality of divided pieces of data, and alternately repeats ejection of the flowable material from the ejecting section (1230) and heating by the heating section (1000), based on the divided pieces of data, to form the layer for one layer of the three-dimensional shaped article (500).
