Problems solved by technology

Because seabed sediments are different from terrestrial rare earth ores, the existing conventional beneficiation methods for terrestrial rare earth ores cannot be easily applied to the treatment of rare earth resources in seabed sediments, and new rare earth beneficiation technology needs to be developed in a targeted manner

Embodiment 1

[0085]A method for recovering rare earth minerals from seabed sediments, used for beneficiation and enrichment of rare earth minerals in the seabed sediments, wherein, in this embodiment, the seabed sediments are seabed sediments collected from the central Pacific Ocean, and the The main minerals are illite, feldspar, chlorite, halite and quartz, followed by apatite, iron manganese oxide, calcite, ilmenite, mica, barite, zircon, etc. The average particle size of minerals is 4.5um, the REO content of the ore sample is 0.096%, 50% of the rare earth elements are in apatite, about 40% are in independent rare earth minerals such as monazite and xenotime, and a small amount is distributed in iron manganese oxides and clay minerals.

[0086] Methods for recovering rare earth minerals from seabed sediments specifically include:

[0087] S1. Pretreatment operation. The pretreatment operation includes: mixing the seabed sediment at 60° C. with the first regulator under the action of a ...

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for recycling rare earth minerals from bottom sediments, and relates to the technical field of rare earth ore dressing. The method comprises a pretreatment operation,a roughing operation and a concentration operation, wherein the pretreatment operation comprises the step that the bottom sediments are stirred and mixed with a first adjusting agent at a temperatureof not less than 40 DEG C; the roughing operation comprises the step that the bottom sediments obtained by pretreatment are mixed with a second adjusting agent and a collecting agent for roughing to obtain rough concentrate and rough tailings; and the concentration operation comprises the step that the rough concentrate is used as a raw material of the concentration operation for at least two times of concentration to obtain rare earth ore concentrate, wherein the second adjusting agent is added in each concentration. The method not only can effectively enrich the rare earth minerals in the bottom sediments, and recycle the rare earth minerals, but also has the advantages of being simple in operation, stable in flow, convenient in on-site management and high in adaptability.

Description

technical field [0001] The present application relates to the technical field of rare earth ore beneficiation, in particular, to a method for recovering rare earth minerals from seabed sediments. Background technique [0002] Rare earth metals are used in electronics, chemical industry, metallurgy, machinery, energy and other fields. They are strategic raw materials for the development of high-tech and are known as the vitamins of modern industry. Existing rare earth metals are all derived from terrestrial rare earth resources. After more than half a century of high-intensity mining, the reserve and guarantee period of terrestrial rare earth resources have continued to decline, making it increasingly difficult to meet industrial needs. [0003] In 2011, Japan discovered a large amount of rare earth element enrichment in Pacific seabed sediments, which attracted the attention of various countries. Existing studies have shown that compared with terrestrial rare earth resource...
