The software license validity verification method comprises the steps of: in response to the installation of software, acquiring software installation time from a trusted time service source; determining the sum of the acquired software installation time and effective duration of the software license as expiration time of the software license and recording the expiration time; after the software is successfully installed and used, automatically acquiring current time given by the trusted time service source; comparing the obtained current time with the expiration time of the software license; and determining that the software licenseis valid in response to the fact that the acquired current time not exceeding the expiration time. According to the software license validity verification method and the software license validity verification system, the problem that after the software license is expired, the user tampers the system time privately and continues to illegally use the software license can be avoided, and the effectiveness of the software license is maintained.
