The square inner-container storage water heater comprises a shell, an inner container, a heating device and a plurality of pressure reducing devices, wherein the shell, the inner container and the heating device are arranged in the shell; the inner container is approximately square; the heating device is used for heating water in the inner container; the pressure reducing devices comprise non-full water tanks; the water tanks are connected with pressure relief holes of the inner container; and the plurality of pressure reducing devices are connected together to form multi-stage pressure reduction. When the pressure is over high, water in the inner container flows towards the pressure reducing devices in order to reduce the pressure in the inner container.
