[0024] Disclosed herein is a flat panel display mounting device that enables quick removal and / or replacement of a flat panel display relative to a display rack. More particularly, disclosed is a quick release mounting device that enables a monitor to be quickly removed or mounted on a monitor rack without the need for any tools such as a screwdriver. In one embodiment, a mounting mechanism is provided that attaches to a flat panel display and includes tabs that grip a mounting plate of a display rack. In another embodiment, the mounting device includes an adapter connected to the display rack mounting plate, and the mounting mechanism of the flat panel display interfaces with the adapter.
