Benefits of technology

[0010]It is a main object of the invention to provide an improvement on a packaging pad to overcome the above-mentioned problems. The packaging pad of the present invention includes a supporting portion for supporting a piece of goods, and an enclosing portion. The supporting portion consists of several different-sized geometric protrusions each having an air room therein; the air rooms don't communicate with each other. The enclosing portion encloses the supporting portion, and consists of several different-sized geometric protrusions each having an air room therein; the air rooms don't communicate with each other. The protrusions of the enclosing portion are taller than those of the supporting portion. Therefore, when a piece of goods is positioned on the supporting portion, one end of the piece of goods and a circumferential side of the end of the piece of goods will be protected from damage in transportation with the protrusions serving as buffers.

Problems solved by technology

1. A lot of different kinds of packaging pads have to be provided for used on different-shaped goods, and a mold has to be provided for manufacturing each kind of packaging pads of the same shape. Therefore, the manufacturing cost is relatively high.
2. Such polylone packaging pads have a fixed shape and size, and can't be bent therefore they will occupy relatively much space in storage and transportation.
3. Such packaging pads can't be recycled, and are difficult to dispose of because they are made of polylone. Consequently, it might cause harm to the environment to use such packaging pads.

Embodiment Construction

[0019]FIGS. 1 and 2 show a first preferred embodiment of a packaging pad 1 in the present invention, which is made of a soft plastic material such a PE, and includes a supporting portion 11, and an enclosing portion 12 enclosing the supporting portion 11. When a piece of goods 2 is positioned with a bottom 21 thereof touching the supporting portion 11 of the packaging pad 1, the bottom 21 will be enclosed by the enclosing portion 12 of the packaging pad 1. The packaging pad 1 has a flat bottom so that it will touch an inner bottom side of a packing box 3 closely when positioned in the packing box 3. The packaging pad 1 has several different-sized geometric protrusions 13 on an upper side thereof, which comprise the supporting portion 11, and the enclosing portion 12, and which each have an air room therein; the air rooms of the protrusions 13 don't communicate with each other. The protrusions 13 of the supporting portion 11 have such heights that the top of the supporting portion 11...

Abstract

A packaging pad includes a supporting portion for supporting a piece of goods, and an enclosing portion; the supporting portion includes several different-sized geometric protrusions each having an air room therein; the air rooms don't communicate with each other; the enclosing portion encloses the supporting portion for enclosing a circumferential side of one end of a piece of goods supported on the supporting portion; the enclosing portion includes several different-sized geometric protrusions each having an air room therein; the air rooms don't communicate with each other; the protrusions of the enclosing portion are taller than those of the supporting portion; therefore, when a piece of goods is positioned on the supporting portion, one end of the piece of goods and a circumferential side of the end of the piece of goods will be protected from damage in transportation with the protrusions serving as buffers.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION[0001]1. Field of the invention[0002]The present invention relates to a packaging pad, more particularly one, which consists of several protrusions for touching a bottom and enclosing a lower circumferential side of a piece of goods so as to prevent the piece of goods from getting damaged in transportation.[0003]2. Brief Description of the Prior Art[0004]To prevent goods from getting damage in transportation, packaging pads are positioned over, under and around the goods in packing the goods, which pads will serve as buffers when the goods are shaking in transportation.[0005]Conventional packaging pads are usually made of polylone (expanded polystyrene), and they are shaped to fit a corresponding portion of a piece of goods to be protected.[0006]Such polylone packaging pads are found to have the following disadvantages:[0007]1. A lot of different kinds of packaging pads have to be provided for used on different-shaped goods, and a mold has to be provided f...
