A process for aircraft retrieval and aircraft crash site remediation may include establishing a perimeter at an aircraft crash site. The process may include containing wreckage in a containment unit that is adapted to prevent release of hazardous materials into the environment. The wreckage may include wreckage of an aircraft from the aircraft crash site. The process may include washing at least some of the wreckage in a decontamination unit. The process may include packaging the washed wreckage in a container.
