Abstract

An air conditioner is provided to arrange inlets, outlets, blower fans at upper and lower parts defined by a barrier plate in a main body for blowing air to an entire area of a room uniformly. An air conditioner includes a main body(10) formed with first and second inlets(13,14) at upper and lower parts, and a heat exchanger(20) mounted in the main body for carrying out heat exchange with air inhaled via the first and second inlets. A barrier plate(50) defines an inside of the main body into upper and lower parts for dividing flows of the air inhaled via the first and second inlets. The barrier plate satisfies a following formula, S1>=S2, wherein S1 represents a heat exchange area between the air inhaled via the first inlet and the heat exchanger, and S2 represents a heat exchange area between the air inhaled via the second inlet and the heat exchanger. The barrier plate satisfies a following formula, 1.0<=S1 / S2<=2.3. First and second outlets(15,16), first and second blower fans(31,32), first and second air guides(41,43), and first and second stabilizers(42,44) are respectively mounted in the upper and lower parts defined by the barrier plate in the main body.
