A dish washer is provided to inform a user whether a door of the dish washer is open or closed when the dish washer is in operation by sensing whether or not the door is open and then making sounds through an informing unit. A dish washer(40) comprises a main body(l), a door(la), a start input unit(l6), a door sensing unit(8), an informing unit(31), and a control unit(34). The main body has an opening(lb) and a washing tub(2) therein. The door opens and closes the opening of the main body. The start input unit senses that the main body starts operation. The door sensing unit senses whether the door is opened or closed. The informing unit informs the states of the main body in voice.
