[0039] As used herein, the term "implantable" material or device refers to a medical material or device that can be permanently implanted in a subject, especially a human, and is generally non-toxic and has excellent biocompatibility. Implantable materials are generally divided into two categories: non-absorbable materials and resorbable materials.

[0040] The term "non-absorbable material" used herein refers to a material that cannot be degraded and absorbed after being implanted in the human body, and permanently maintains its original performance. It mainly includes synthetic polymer materials, including polypropylene, polyethylene, polyester, polyurethane, polyamide, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc. Among them, polypropylene is the most widely used.

[0041] The term "absorbable material" as used herein refers to a material that can be degraded and absorbed by the human body through various mechanisms after being implanted in the human body. It mainly includes artificial or...

Abstract

The present invention provides a multi-purpose repair patch used for hernia repair. The repair patch includes: a substrate which is formed by implantable mesh knitted fabrics, wherein, a plurality of small holes are arranged in thereof; and a plurality of petals which are formed by implantable mesh knitted fabrics, wherein, the petals are arranged on the upper surface of the substrate and are arranged around the center of the substrate, the distal ends of the pedals are free, and the proximal ends are fixed in a central region of the substrate. The repair patch can further include a plurality of reinforced ribs which are arranged on the upper surface of the substrate in a preferential implementation mode. The repair patch of the invention can not only adopt the embolization method, but can also adopt the preperitoneal space method for hernia repair, which has good clinical effect.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to implantable devices for repairing hernias. More specifically, the present invention relates to an implantable multipurpose external abdominal hernia repair patch. Background technique [0002] A hernia means that an organ leaves its original location and enters another location through a weak point or defect or hole in the human body. The most common site for hernias is the abdomen. Abdominal internal organs protrude to the body surface through congenital or acquired defects or weak areas of the abdominal wall, forming a local mass, which is called external abdominal hernia. Abdominal viscera or omentum shifting away from the original position through normal or abnormal channels and fissures in the abdominal cavity constitutes an intra-abdominal hernia, which cannot be seen by the clinic, such as lesser omentum hernia, diaphragmatic hernia, etc. External abdominal hernias are far more common than internal abdominal h...
