The pulmonary surface active liquid is a serum-free culture medium, and is rich in nutrient substance including macromolecular protein, nucleic acid and so on. Partial pulmonary surface active liquid can be added to substitute for serum during the growth and proliferation of animal cells. According to experiments, the pulmonary surface active liquid plays a significant role in the attachment and protection of cells and can neutralize the toxicity of toxic substance so that the cells are not injured. The pulmonary surface active liquid is used for experiment and production by tens of research academies and production units throughout China. The product is reliable in quality, and stable in nature. For instance, the doubling time of cells Sp2 / 0-Ag14 does not exceed 15 hours in supporting proliferation of cells; the doubling time is 20 hours when serum is used as a culture medium.
