Abstract

The invention discloses a seedling-raising method using a poplar root sucker and a container hardwood cutting together, comprising the following steps of: (1) raising seedlings by the container hardwood cutting through directly adopting the hardwoods of annual nursery stocks to obtain container seedlings if the breeds of poplars to be propagated are annual nursery stocks; and excavating the root systems of the adult trees of the poplars and shearing the root systems to cuttings for the seedling raising of container root cutting to obtain the container seedlings if the breeds of the poplars tobe propagated are adult trees; (2) transplanting the obtained container seedlings in nursery land for nursery stock breeding; (3) after leaves fall in the same year or seedlings are lifted in spring of the ensuing year, carrying away qualified seedlings for forestation and translating the seedling-lifted nursery land into root sucker seedling-raising nursery land; and (4) carrying out the container hardwood cutting seedling raising by using the substandard seedlings bred by the root sucker.
