Abstract

The invention relates to a household appliance (1) comprising a drying chamber (2) for drying wet articles (3) therein, a process air loop (4) for circulating process air to dry the articles (3) and a heat pump (8, 9, 10, 11, 12). Said heat pump (8, 9, 10, 11, 12) comprises a heat transfer loop (8) containing a heat transfer fluid to be circulated through said heat transfer loop (8), an evaporator heat exchanger (9) for transferring heat from the process air into said heat transfer fluid by evaporating said heat transfer fluid, a liquefier heat exchanger (10) for transferring heat from said heat transfer fluid to the process air by liquefying said heat transfer fluid, a compressor (11) for compressing the heat transfer fluid and driving the heat transfer fluid through said heat transfer loop (8), and a nozzle (12) for decompressing said heat transfer fluid.
