Embodiment Construction

[0058] The following description illustrates the embodiments of the present invention by way of example and not limitation. Thus, the embodiments described below represent preferred embodiments of the present invention.

[0059] The following terms are intended to have the following general meanings as used herein:

[0060] Monochromatic incident radiation source: Monochromatic incident radiation source is a monochromatic light produced by a monochromator or monochromatic lamp, as the incident radiation source for the substance to be measured on the base of the radiation library unit. In an embodiment of the present invention, the source may include a lamp, a monochromator, a lens, a mirror, an optical cable, an optical fiber collimator, and the like.

[0061] Monochromator: A monochromator is an optical device that transmits light or radiation in a mechanically selectable narrow band, which comes from a light source or lamp source.

[0062] Incident radiation source: The incident ra...

Abstract

Disclosed are high-throughput spectral imaging and spectroscopy apparatus and methods that acquire the property information of measured substance's UV-visible and infrared radiation through using at least one substantially uniform monochromatic incident irradiation source (101, 102) and spatial resolved array detector (108). The high- throughput analysis is achieved by acquiring a parallel spectral imaging and spectroscopy over a library element substrate (105). The apparatus and methods include both hardware and software for achieving both spectral imaging and spectroscopic analysis.

Description

[0001] Cross references to related applications [0002] This application claims the priority of the US application (application serial number 12 / 105,676, application date April 18, 2008), which is fully incorporated herein. Technical field [0003] The present invention generally relates to a device and method for high-throughput screening or acquiring characteristic information of a substance to be tested, which has been placed or produced in a known location on the base of a library unit. More specifically, the present invention utilizes the special diffuse reflectance spectral characteristics of any substance on a solid medium at a fixed wavelength or frequency. Background technique [0004] Substances can absorb, reflect, diffract, refract, scatter and propagate incident radiation, and can also be irradiated through different excitation mechanisms to emit fluorescence and phosphorescence. These phenomena are closely related to the chemical structure, chemical composition, surf...
