The measuring method provided by the invention utilizes a TOC (total organic carbon) analyzer to measure the total nitrogen in the coking wastewater, and comprises the steps that: a standard solution is firstly prepared and a standard curve of the standard solution is established, the total nitrogen and an ozone gas source in a sample are combined and then resolved into nitrogen monoxide after the sample is combusted, the nitrogen monoxide gas is driven by carrier gas to enter into a chemiluminescence detector to be detected, and then the total nitrogen concentration in the sample is measured by comparing a detecting signal sent from the detector with the standard curve.
