A manual vehicle seat has a first seat portion and a second seat portion which is movably coupled to the first seat portion, a sensing device providing a signal corresponding to at least one position of the second seat portion relative to the first seat portion, a memory device storing at least one value representative of a preferred position of the second seat portion relative to the first seat portion, and an alert means alerting a user when the user is adjusting the seat position that the signal value provided by the sensing device corresponds to the stored value.
