Abstract

The invention provides a method for accurately converting arbitrary modes in an independently-multiplexed mode division multiplexing optical fiber communication system and a network. The method can perform arbitrary mode conversion accurately and flexibly and plays a key role in achieving exchange with modes serving as granularities. The method for accurately converting arbitrary modes based on a simulated annealing algorithm is provided to meet needs of data exchange among different modes. According to the method, a binary phase spatial light modulator serves as the key part of mode conversion, and arbitrary mode conversion is achieved without changing any physical devices by means of the characteristic that a program of the spatial light modulator is reconfigurable. By means of the simulated annealing algorithm, an approximate optimal value can be achieved, the optimal phase function of the converted plane is calculated out, amplitude damage caused by the phase spatial light modulator can be compensated effectively, therefore, an accurate phase transfer function converting a mode to be converted into a target mode is established, and accurate conversion of arbitrary modes can be achieved.
