The invention provides a method and a device for updating data of IFE (in-flight entertainment) systems of aircrafts. The method includes processing update data to obtain compressed update packs in specified formats; transmitting the update packs to the IFE systems of the aircrafts via mobile communication networks; verifying encryption checking information and integrity checking information of the update packs which are transmitted to the IFE systems of the aircrafts, and updating the checked update packs into the IFE systems of the aircrafts according to specific data structures. The specified formats are update pack formats applicable to the IFE systems of the aircrafts, the update packs are provided with the encryption checking information and the integrity checking information, and the update data are described according to the specific data structures. The method and the device have the advantages that the specified update formats can be produced by update contents, the safety and the integrity of the update contents can be guaranteed in multiple modes, problems of time and labor wastage and the like when systems are manually updated can be solved, and accordingly the update packs can be safely updated to the IFE systems of the aircrafts.
