Abstract

The hinge strut assembly includes a hinge strut including a panel. The panel includes a body side exterior door closure surface and defines an interior cavity and an inlet opening in communication with the interior cavity. An entry opening is positioned in the body side exterior door closure surface and provides access to a manual park release actuator disposed at least partially in the interior cavity. The hinge post assembly also includes a cover removably coupled to the hinge post. The cover closes the inlet opening when coupled to the hinge strut. The hinge strut assembly also includes a manual park release actuator disposed at least partially within the inner cavity. A manual park release actuator is operatively coupled to the transmission and configured to move relative to the hinge strut to shift the transmission from the park mode to the out-of-park mode.
