Abstract

A medical image navigation system (2) comprises: observation port module (4), similarity module (26), visualization module (28) and matching module (34). The observation port module (4) navigates a plurality of image slices of the study, and selects at least one image based on the input from at least one input device, the at least one image and any annotation associated with the selected at least one image is displayed on the display device. If available, for the selected image slices, the similarity module (26) returns at least one similar annotation. For the returned at least one near annotation, the visualization module (28) visualizes the at least one near annotation, the at least one near annotation is displayed by the observer port module on at least one image selected. The matching module (34) retrieves image slices for display in one study, the image slices in one study correspond to the image slices displayed from another study.
