Abstract

The invention provides an extinguishant and a preparation method and application thereof. The extinguishant comprises, by weight, 35-55% of potassium carbonate, 0.5-5% of APG and 40-60% of water. The preparation method includes the steps: a), adding the potassium carbonate into water, and stirring to enable the potassium carbonate to be dissolved so as to obtain a potassium carbonate solution; b), adding the APG into the potassium carbonate solution, and stirring prior to cooling and settling to obtain the extinguishant. The application of the extinguishant is used for extinguishing fire caused by vegetable oil. The extinguishant is simple to prepare, low in production cost, good in extinguishing effect and safe and non-toxic.
