Abstract

The invention provides a voltage controlled oscillator and a temperature compensation method therefor. The method is applicable to the voltage controlled oscillator. The voltage controlled oscillator comprises an inductor, a frequency adjusting capacitor, a varactor and at least two temperature compensation capacitors. A control word of the frequency adjusting capacitor used by a phase locked loop and corresponding to each frequency point is prestored in a lookup table, and an intermediate value of a control word of the temperature compensation capacitor is presorted in the lookup table; and the connection methods of the temperature compensation capacitors and the frequency adjusting capacitor are the same. The method comprises the steps of after finishing sending or receiving a frame, detecting a control voltage of the voltage controlled oscillator; and judging whether the control voltage is in a preset voltage range or not, if the control voltage exceeds the preset voltage range, upgrading the control word of the temperature compensation capacitor corresponding to the frequency point in the lookup table, so as to adjust the control voltage within the preset voltage range.
