Abstract

The invention relates to a system and a method for realizing remote authentication of a subscriber identity module (SIM) card. The method comprises the steps that a physical card accesses a mobile communication network, position information of a cell which a user accesses is acquired, and whether the user is in a roaming state is determined; if the user is in the roaming state, a cloud card smart terminal switches the state of the physical card to a global system for mobile communications (GSM) network, switches the state of a cloud card to an long term evolution / wideband code division multiple access (LTE / WCDMA) network, and writes SIM card virtual number resource information acquired from a user identification card management server through a GSM data channel of the physical card in the cloud card; the cloud card smart terminal initiates a service request by use of a virtual number of the cloud card, and sends authentication data generated by the user identification card management server to mobile communication core network equipment to authenticate; a data channel of the cloud card smart terminal is switched to the LTE / WCDMA network of the cloud card; and the cloud card smart terminal uses the cloud card to perform voice or data communication through the mobile communication network. Through adoption of the system and method, the use cost of the user and power consumption of the terminal can be lowered.
