Abstract

The present invention relates to the technical field of communications. Disclosed is an external module for use in connecting to a live wire cable and to an earth wire cable. The external module comprises a housing, a PCB, a first power drawing element, a second power drawing element, and a cable-pressing plate. Notches are provided at either end of the housing. The notches and the cable-pressing plate constitute a through hole for the live wire cable and the earth wire cable to pass through. The cable-pressing plate and the housing form a module cavity. The PCB is provided within the module cavity. The first power drawing element and the second power drawing element are electrically connected to the PCB. The first power drawing element is used for contacting a metal core of the live wire cable arranged opposite thereto. The second power drawing element is used for contacting a metal core of the earth wire cable arranged opposite thereto. The cable press plate is used for pressing tight the live wire cable and the earth wire cable to allow the first power drawing element to contact the metal core of the live wire cable and the second power drawing element to contact the metal core of the earth wire cable, thus implementing an electrical path. The external module provided in the present invention solves the problem of low efficiency in connecting the external module to a power cable.
