specific Embodiment approach 1

[0047] Specific embodiment 1: The nucleotide sequence of the HD-ZIP IV family transcription factor OsROC4 gene in this embodiment is shown in SEQ ID NO: 1 in the sequence listing.

[0048] In this embodiment, the rice HD-ZIPIV family transcription factor OsROC4 gene can interact with a drought hypersensitive gene (Drought Hypersensitive, OsDHS) to jointly regulate the synthesis of rice epidermal wax. OsROC4 overexpression rice epidermal wax significantly increased, thereby enhancing rice drought tolerance, on the contrary, roc4 mutants decreased epidermal wax, resulting in reduced drought tolerance of rice.

[0049] Embodiment 2: The amino acid sequence of the protein encoded by the rice HD-ZIPIV family transcription factor OsROC4 gene in this embodiment is shown in SEQ ID NO:2.

Abstract

The invention provides a rice HD-ZIP IV family transcription factor OsROC4 gene, an encoded protein thereof and application of the gene. The nucleotide sequence of the OsROC4 gene is shown as SEQ ID NO:1 in a sequence table; the amino acid sequence of the encoded protein is shown as SEQ ID NO: 2. The OsROC4 gene is excessively expressed or knocked out in rice, a series of experiments prove that the OsROC4 gene overexpressing transgenic rice epicuticular wax is compact, and the drought tolerance is enhanced; on the contrary, epicuticular wax of a roc4 mutant is sparse, and the drought tolerance is weakened. The OsROC4 gene controls reactions of plants on drought stress by controlling rice epicuticular wax synthesis.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an OsROC4 gene, its encoded protein and its application. Background technique [0002] Due to global climate change, shortage of fresh water resources, and growing population, drought has become one of the most important factors restricting the world's rice production. Rice itself forms a variety of mechanisms to resist drought stress. The waxy structure of the epidermis provides an important barrier to prevent water from evaporating through non-stomatal pathways. Increasing the wax content can significantly improve the drought resistance of rice. In recent years, researchers have cloned many genes of the wax synthesis pathway. These genes can regulate the amount or composition of wax, change the wax structure of the epidermis, and thus regulate the response of plants to drought stress. However, the research on transcription factors that regulate wax synthesis less. Contents of the invention [0003] The object of the inven...
