The invention discloses a bamboo rat fattening method and relates to the technical field of bamboo rat breeding. The bamboo rat fattening method comprises breeding gregarious bamboo rats to be fattened in one house at a density of 4-6/m2; regularly clip teeth for the bamboo rat to keep the tooth length to be 1.5-2.0 cm; freely feeding the bamboo rates 3-5 times a day with feedstuff composed of coarse stuff and fine stuff at a ratio of 3.5:1, which is added with 0.3-0.6% of fattening additives; meanwhile, freely feeding the bamboo rats with an adequate quantity of grass roots every day; enclosing the bamboo rats inside the house at daytime for rest to reduce activity, and putting the bamboo rats into a culture pond for free activity, wherein the culture pond is provided with a plurality of mounds where accordingly the bamboo rats can dig holes. Through reasonable feeding management, the bamboo rat fattening method can rapidly fatten the bamboo rats, shorten the marketing time and the culture cycle and reduce the breeding cost.
