10 results about "Burrow" patented technology

A burrow is a hole or tunnel excavated into the ground by an animal to create a space suitable for habitation, temporary refuge, or as a byproduct of locomotion. Burrows provide a form of shelter against predation and exposure to the elements and can be found in nearly every biome and among various biological interactions. Burrows can be constructed into a wide variety of substrates and can range in complexity from a simple tube a few centimeters long to a complex network of interconnecting tunnels and chambers hundreds or thousands of meters in total length, such as a well-developed rabbit warren.

A method and apparatus for collecting earthworm burrow wall soil

ActiveCN121298310BSoil scienceSoil properties
This invention provides a method and apparatus for collecting earthworm burrow wall soil. The method includes collecting raw soil, adjusting the particle composition of the raw soil to obtain culture soil. A mesh screen is laid in a culture pot, and the culture soil is placed inside the mesh screen. Earthworms are placed in the culture soil, and the culture pot is placed in an incubator. The environmental parameters in the incubator are adjusted to allow the earthworms to construct burrows within the culture soil. A preset time is checked; if so, the culture soil is removed, and the burrow wall soil is peeled off. The culture soil balances plasticity and permeability to meet the needs of earthworm growth and burrow building during long-term cultivation. By adjusting the temperature, humidity, and light intensity in the incubator, the earthworms can fully construct burrows while maintaining stable burrow wall soil properties. A hard, pointed spoon is used to precisely peel off the burrow wall soil, ensuring that the burrow wall soil sample is free from cross-contamination and structurally intact.

A method for identifying grassland rodent burrows based on UAV aerial photography and machine learning

A grassland rodent burrow identification method based on UAV aerial photography and machine learning is proposed. First, a UAV is used to photograph the survey area to obtain high- and low-altitude images. Then, the high-altitude images are pre-processed using the coordinates of ground control points to obtain the corresponding DOM (Domain Image) images. Next, both the DOM and low-altitude images undergo color space transformation and multi-scale segmentation to obtain corresponding high- and low-altitude polygon images. The low-altitude polygon images are then divided into training and validation samples. The algorithm classifier is repeatedly trained and validated using these samples until the required accuracy is achieved, resulting in a mature algorithm classifier. Finally, the high-altitude polygon images are fed into the algorithm classifier to output the vector data of the rodent burrow polygons. This design not only offers good accuracy and low time consumption but also boasts high recognition speed and strong timeliness, making it suitable for precise dynamic monitoring and prediction of rodent distribution.

Rat hole and vegetation coverage monitoring method for grassland ecology

The invention relates to the technical field of remote sensing and ecological monitoring, and discloses a grassland ecology-oriented mousehole and vegetation coverage monitoring method, which integrates multi-temporal optical remote sensing, synthetic aperture radar and ground sensing data, realizes high-precision recognition of a mousehole by improving a U-shaped convolutional neural network, and improves the reliability of the mousehole. The accuracy is improved by combining interference coherence attenuation characteristics and microtopography verification; synchronously inverting the multi-exponential weighted vegetation coverage, constructing a time-space aligned double-variable time series data set, calculating a Granger causal coefficient by using a vector autoregression model, and quantifying the driving intensity of the mousehole density on vegetation degradation; and when the causal coefficient exceeds a threshold value and the vegetation coverage continuously decreases, triggering first-level ecological early warning. According to the method, accurate quantification and early warning of the rodent damage-vegetation causal chain are achieved, and scientificity and timeliness of grassland ecological monitoring are remarkably improved.

The water area (101) of the amphibious tidal tank has a relatively high water level when being at a low tide level, and in the land area (102), there is a relatively thick land layer having good air permeability. Therefore, the requirements of organisms in the intertidal zone on the land layer and the requirements of aquatic organisms on the amount of water can be satisfied. In addition, the relatively thick land layer allows burrowing organisms in the intertidal zone to dig relatively deep holes, which is beneficial to the survival of the burrowing organisms, and improves the ornamental value of the amphibious tidal tank.
