Abstract

Provided is a concentrator photovoltaic unit in which, when the vertical relationship between the positions on an optical path is defined such that a primary light-concentrating unit is above a secondary light-concentrating unit, said secondary light-concentrating unit is provided with: a secondary lens provided above a power generation element; a lens support section that surrounds the power generation element, that is a base on which the secondary lens is placed, and that supports the secondary lens such that said secondary lens is suspended above the power generation element; a cover section that is made from a translucent resin and that covers the surface of the secondary lens; and a seal section that is made from a translucent resin and that fills the space of a gap between the powergeneration element and the secondary lens within the lens support section. The upper end surface of the lens support section comprises: an inner edge that is in contact with the secondary lens; and aresin bearing section that bears the lower end of the cover section and that spreads outward from the inner edge without being in contact with the secondary lens.
