Abstract

The arc extinguishing performance of the circuit breaker is judged according to the electromagnetic wave signal and the arc duration time by detecting the electromagnetic wave signal radiated by a switch arc generated in the switching-on and switching-off process of thecircuit breaker. The method for detecting the arc extinguishing performance of the circuit breaker is wide in application range, and can achieve the detection purpose for various types of circuit breakers; and the arc extinguishing performance of the circuit breaker is judged by acquiring electromagnetic wave signals of the circuit breaker in the states of putting into operation, different operation years and reaching the service life, and the actual production requirement in the power industry is met.
