Abstract

The method includes taking Dorper sheep as male parents and taking small tailed han sheep or small tailed han sheephybrid sheep as female parents to perform hybridization; and breeding the new breed of mutton sheep which are high in reproduction rate, fast in early growth rate, high-quality in meat and suitable for breeding at Huanghuai areas through hybrid innovation, crossing fixation and group expanding propagation. The weights of the adult rams of the new breed Huanghuai mutton sheep can reach 98.1 kg, and the weight of the ewes can reach 71.7 kg; the fattening weights of 6-month-old rams and ewes are respectively 58.50 kg and 52.45 kg; the dressing percentage of the 6-month-old fattening rams and ewes are respectively 56.02% and 53.19%; and the annual lambing rate of the ewes is 252.82%, and the number of weaned lambs provided by the ewes per year is 2.38.
