Embodiment Construction

[0017] A container is disclosed that collapses into a collapsed state when not in use for shipping to improve the efficiency of shipping operations. General details of container operation can be found in US Patent No. 8,113,372, US Patent No. 8,783,489, and US Patent No. 9,045,280, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. In view of the full description in the aforementioned patent, the details of the contraction and expansion of the container have been omitted in this application for the sake of brevity.

[0018] figure 1 It is a perspective view of the container 100 of this invention. The container has a top wall 20 , a bottom wall 22 and first and second end walls 16 , 16 that rotate about an upper (or lower) edge to couple to the roof of the container 100 . Once the first and second end walls are secured inside the container, the container is also provided with a left wall 12 and a right wall 12 with longitudinal hinges allowing the walls to sna...

Abstract

The invention provides an improved shrinkable container provided with a cam lock mounting bracket, and discloses the container. The container can be easily converted from an upright configuration to ashrinkable configuration to improve transport efficiency. A locking mechanism holds the container in an upright position until the container needs to shrink, a cam locking configuration is used, a rotatable cam is stuck by using a pin to lock the mechanism, and a release pin is rotated to unlock the mechanism.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to collapsible containers, and more particularly to containers that can be stacked when empty to increase efficiency and reduce shipping costs and emissions. Background technique [0002] For decades, the import of ocean-going shipping containers has had a substantial impact on the availability of goods for consumption and manufacture in the United States and abroad. Unfortunately, the trade lanes have suffered from huge load imbalances, with as many as four to five loaded containers returning and only about one loaded container leaving the port. Part of this imbalance is that other countries are able to produce goods at lower prices or receive subsidies to sell or market their goods to the United States. As a result, container utilization is largely unidirectional. This imbalance means that container shipping lines pay for one-way imports and are forced to move or relocate empty containers back to foreign port...
