Embodiment Construction

[0020] see figure 1 A method (110) of controlling a digital camera to determine image sharpness according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is used in a method (100) of controlling a digital camera. As a method of controlling a digital camera by enlarging the captured image to display object parts included in the captured image so that the user can confirm the sharpness of the captured image, the digital camera control method 110 includes a face inclusion determination step 104, selecting Step 105 , step 106 of zooming in on the selected area and step 107 of displaying the enlarged image.

[0021] In the human face inclusion determining step 104, it is determined whether the captured image includes a human face. In the selecting step 105, when the captured image includes a human face, the human face is selected as the area to be enlarged. When the captured image does not include a human face, the captured image is divided into at least two regions, and one o...

Abstract

A digital camera and a controlling method thereof are provided to expand a portion of a subject included in a captured image, and to display the expanded subject on a screen, so that a user can decide sharpness of the captured image, thereby easily deciding the sharpness of the image. The controlling method comprises the steps as follows. A system decides whether a human face is included in the captured image. If so, the system selects an area for expanding the human face, and if the human face is not included, the system divides the captured image into at least more than two areas, and selects one of the areas having the most frames. The system expands the selected area, and displays the expanded image.

Description

[0001] This application claims priority from Korean Patent Application No. 2003-2956 filed at the Korean Intellectual Property Office on January 16, 2003, the disclosure of which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. technical field [0002] The present invention relates to a digital camera and a method of controlling the digital camera, and more particularly, to a digital camera and a method of controlling the digital camera to display a magnified portion of a captured image on a screen so that the user can determine the sharpness of the image . Background technique [0003] In a conventional digital camera, in order to determine the sharpness of a captured image, the image is displayed on a display device such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel, and a user determines the sharpness of the image by viewing the displayed image. [0004] However, according to the conventional method of determining the sharpness of an image in a digital camera, it is difficu...
