[0002] The present invention relates to a climbing wall and, more particularly, to a climbing wall with a compressible layer.
[0003] A climbing wall is an artificially constructed wall with grips for hands and feet, usually used for indoor climbing, but sometimes located outdoors. Some are brick or wooden constructions, but on most modern walls, the material most often used is a thick multiplex board with holes drilled into it. Climbing walls currently have a rough surface to prevent the climbing holds from spinning. This causes users to scratch their knees and hands. The climbing walls are also constructed of a hard surface increasing the potential for injury.
