no. 1 approach

[0078] The first embodiment embodying the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. figure 1 The shown perspective view shows the exterior of a multifunction device 1 including a facsimile function, a print function, a copy function, and a scanner function. This multifunction device 1 includes a paper feeding mechanism for conveying paper and a printing mechanism for printing characters, graphics, photographic images, etc. (hereinafter referred to as "graphic patterns") on the paper fed by the paper feeding mechanism, Provides paper with graphics printed on it.

[0079] The multifunctional device 1 has a lower case 2 and an upper case 3 . The lower case 2 is substantially box-shaped in which an upper surface thereof is opened. The upper housing 3 is connected with the left side of the lower housing 2 by a hinge (not shown), and can be figure 1 It rotates about the axis of rotation 200 in the direction of arrow 202 from its position show...

no. 2 approach

[0179] In the following, only the differences between the first embodiment and the second embodiment will be explained, and repeated explanations will be omitted.

[0180] The multifunctional device 1 in the second embodiment is as Figure 23 Shown includes a lower case 2 stacked with a first lower case 2a and a second lower case 2b. An opening portion 2c is formed on the front side of the first lower case 2a, and as Figure 24 As shown, the first paper cassette 5A is inserted into the opening portion 2c, so that the first paper cassette 5A can be drawn out. Such as Figure 23 As shown, an opening portion 2d is formed on the front side of the second lower case 2b, and as Figure 24 As shown, the second paper cassette 5B is inserted into the opening portion 2d, so that the second paper cassette 5B can be drawn out.

[0181] Figure 23 A state in which the first paper cassette 5A is taken out from the lower case 2 and the second paper cassette 5B is stored in the lower case...

Abstract

A supply roller for sending a piece of sheet from pieces of sheets stacked within a cassette towards a sheet guide and a pair of feed-in rollers for sending the piece of sheet supplied from the sheet guide towards a printing region are provided within a printer. The pair of feed-in rollers has a feed-in drive roller driven by a motor and a feed-in driven roller driven by the feed-in drive roller. A sending speed of the pair of feed-in rollers is faster than a sending speed of the supply roller, and a sending force of the pair of feed-in rollers is stronger than a sending force of the supply roller. A controller of the printer controls the rotation of the supply roller and the pair of feed-in rollers according to a procedure that does not rely on a position of the sheet sent by the supply roller and the pair of feed-in rollers during the continuous feeding mode.
