Embodiment Construction

[0053] Reference figure 1 with 2 , Shows a first embodiment of a glazed panel 10 according to the present invention, the panel comprising a base panel 11 of glass or a transparent material such as plastic. A plurality of elongated optical elements 12 extend between opposite side edges of the substrate 11 in the form of horizontal parallel straight lines.

[0054] The optical element 12 is directly digitally printed on the inner surface of the substrate 11. Each element 12 is generally triangular in cross section and includes a generally flat upper surface arranged perpendicular to the plane of the substrate 11. The thickness of each element 12 gradually decreases toward the lower edge. Each element 12 is constructed by depositing a series of white or light-colored pixels, and the thickness of element 12 is changed by adjusting the spacing between pixels and / or their degree of overlap: the thickest part of each element 12 is densely deposited The overlapping pixel groups are for...

Abstract

A glazing panel comprises sheet of glass (11) and a series of spatially separated optical elements (12) disposed on a major face of the glass. Each element (12) has an upwardly-facing reflective surface 13 which extends out of the plane of the glass. A region (15) of a material, having an optical transmission coefficient which varies across its width, is disposed below the surface (13). Light incident on the upwardly facing reflective side surfaces (13) is reflected upwardly into the area on the other side of the glazing panel. Light entering the area through the region (15) is attenuated anddiffused. The elements (12) may be printed onto the glass or onto a film that is applied to the glass. Alternatively, the elements may comprise profiled formations which are adhered to the glass.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a glazed panel for controlling excess sunlight and heat caused by sunlight passing through the panel. Background technique [0002] As we all know, in order to reduce and redirect the sunlight, horizontal slats in the form of shutters are installed across the rear of the glazed panel on the building. Such blinds are only a temporary solution to this problem, and their effect depends on them being lowered and adjusted correctly. [0003] It is also well known that in order to reduce and redirect sunlight, permanent horizontal slats are installed across the front of the glazed panels on some buildings. This so-called sun visor or sun screen is expensive in construction, has poor visibility, is heavy, and is difficult to clean and maintain. One such sun visor is disclosed in Taiwan Patent Application TW552344B. Summary of the invention [0004] I have now designed a glazed panel that alleviates the above problems. [0005] Accor...
