The method comprises the following steps: (1) selecting a set-up voltage regulator, a capacitor voltage ratio standard device and an error measuring device according to a capacitor voltage transformer to be checked; (2) carrying out field calibration of the voltage-dividing ratio coefficient of the capacitor voltage ratio standard device; (3) connecting the devices; and (4) displaying the ratio difference value and angle difference value of the capacitor voltage transformer to be checked by the error measuring device, and judging whether the accuracy of the capacitor voltage transformer to be checked meets the specification requirement or not according to the ratio difference value and the angle difference value.
