Abstract

The invention provides a cross-polarization dual laser, which is characterized in that isotropous neodymium-doped laser crystals with a multi-channel transition property is adopted, and a continuous, pulse or pulse repetition rate laser which is used for realizing mutually orthorhombic dual-wavelength lasers with horizontally-polarized wavelength I and vertically-polarized wavelength II in two polarization directions is adopted, belonging to a novel laser. The laser comprises the isotropous neodymium-doped laser crystals such as Nd: YAG or Nd: GGG and other crystals, a pumping system which is used for pumping the laser crystals so as to enable active ions (Nd3<+>irons) in the laser crystals to form distribution for population inversion, an optical resonant cavity for radiating the horizontally-polarized wavelength I and the vertically-polarized wavelength II of active ions through transition emission therein for resonance, and a cooling system of a laser device. Finally, the cross-polarization dual wavelength lasers with the horizontally-polarized wavelength I and the vertically-polarized wavelength II are output by the same output coupling mirror in the same optical path simultaneously. The cross-polarization dual laser provides a novel laser light source which is a new technical way to acquire high-power high-coherence sum frequency or difference frequency (THz radiation waves) lasers, can be used to widen applications of dual wavelength lasers and has widely application prospects and use value in the fields of nonlinear frequency conversion, fiber-optical communication and the like.
