Embodiment Construction

[0008] figure 1 Shows the display portion of a watt-hour meter for measuring the amount of electric energy consumption. For example, the energy comes from the supply mains. The electricity meter comprises a housing part 1 with a front side 1a. A display assembly 10 is attached to the front side 1 a and includes a ribbon cable 5 , an electrical display 11 and one or more buttons 12 .

[0009] The cable 5 is guided through a recess 1b embedded in the housing part 1 and serves as a connection to an electrical circuit that measures electrical energy consumption and includes, for example, a motherboard. The housing encloses the circuit, and a display 11 is attached to the housing.

[0010] The display assembly 10 also includes a panel 13 with a window 13a. The display 11 is attached to the tablet 13 so that its front side is visible through the window 13a. The rear side of the display 11 is connected to a printed circuit board (PCB) 15 which has a chip 16 and is connected to t...

Abstract

The energy meter for measuring the amount of electrical energy consumed comprises an electrical display (11) for displaying energy information corresponding to the electrical energy consumed. The display (11) is configured to change the energy information displayed by means of energy supplied by an energy source. It is configured such that when the energy supplied by the power source is interrupted the energy information displayed remains visible.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a watt-hour meter according to the preamble of claim 1 . Background technique [0002] A watt-hour meter is used to measure electrical energy consumption. For example, the electrical energy comes from the supply mains. It is known to use electric displays in the form of LCD or LED displays to display information about energy consumption. However, to display the information, power is continuously supplied to such displays, even if the information does not change. If the power is interrupted, the information is no longer displayed. For example, an outage may occur when a tenant vacates a rented apartment and the electricity provider disconnects the apartment from the mains. Contents of the invention [0003] It is an object of the present invention to provide an electricity meter with an improved way of displaying energy information. [0004] This object is achieved by a watt-hour meter as defined in claim 1 . The display...
