Problems solved by technology
This uneven dosage can cause some areas to be sore while others have insufficient depilatory action, and is a problem that will be exacerbated by the presence of a protective release layer that must be removed from the depilatory product prior to use. Besides, the protective release layer creates mechanical stress on the depilatory composition and causes the composition to crack, dilute and / or flow
At the same time, unsuitable rheological properties may hinder the conformability of the composition to body surfaces, thereby inhibiting the availability of active ingredients to areas requiring aesthetic treatment and also progressively impairing the efficacy of the composition

Abstract
A depilatory article comprising a substrate; and a depilatory composition disposed on the substrate, the coating of depilatory composition forming a coated region of the substrate and having a substrate facing side and a non-substrate facing side, wherein said depilatory composition has a yield point from 50 Pa to 2000 Pa, preferably from 65 Pa to 1200 Pa, more preferably from 80 Pa to 750 Pa and even more preferably from 100 Pa to 500 Pa measured via a stress controlled amplitude sweep; at a frequency of 1Hz and a temperature of 25 DEG C and wherein the depilatory article comprises a protective release layer, preferably a water impermeable protective release layer placed on the non-substrate facing side of the depilatory composition.
Description
field of invention [0001] The present invention relates to depilatory articles comprising a chemically active depilatory composition dispensed on a substrate. Background of the invention [0002] Depilatory compositions for chemically active removal of unwanted hair are known. Such compositions may contain thioglycolates to degrade keratin in the hair and thus weaken the locks. These compositions may take the form of creams, lotions, etc., which are applied to unwanted hair in a variety of ways, such as with a squeegee. The weakened locks are then scraped off using a scraper or another suitable implement and the epilation process is completed. This can be a cumbersome and awkward process for the user of the depilatory cream or lotion. These deficiencies can be overcome or alleviated to some extent by dispensing the depilatory composition on the substrate. Substrate based depilatory products are known from JP63073910A, US2006002878, JP6135826A, JP11012123A and JP62230711A...
