[0011] The fruit hardness tester (compactness tester) is used to determine the ripeness of the fruit, and to control the picking and processing time as well as storage and transportation in real time. In our long-term scientific research experiments on sweet potatoes, we found that there is a close relationship between the dry matter content of potato pieces and the firmness (hardness) of potato flesh.
