The invention discloses a non-invasive central arterial pressure detector, which comprises a pulse signal acquisition unit, a pulse signal processing unit, a main processor unit and an input and output unit, wherein the pulse signal acquisition unit is used for transmitting an acquired brachial arterial pressure pulse wave signal to the pulse signal processing unit; the pulse signal processing unit is used for processing the brachial arterial pressure pulse wave signal and then transmitting to the main processor unit; and the main processor unit is used for calculating and analyzing the received pressure pulse wave signal by using a conduction function method and transmitting a central arterial pressure curve, a central arterial pressure value, stroke volume, blood total resistance, an arteriosclerosis index and blood pressure type to the input and output unit to be displayed and output. A detection method comprises the following steps of: acquiring brachial arterial blood pressure through a blood pressure cuff wound on the brachial artery of the upper arm of a patient and patient information; acquiring brachial arterial pressure pulse wave when pressure of the blood pressure cuff is at 60 mmHg; and calculating and outputting central arterial pressure, the stroke volume, the blood total resistance, the arteriosclerosis index and the blood pressure type.
