Embodiment Construction

[0016] Referring now to the drawings, and more particularly to figure 1 , figure 1 A perspective view of a large rectangular baler 10 is shown that includes a chassis 12 that carries various other structural components such as a body 14 , wheels 16 and a discharge chute 18 . The knotter device 20 at the rear upper portion of the vehicle body 14 accommodates a knotter station having a predetermined number of knotter assemblies (in figure 1 not visible in ). Positioned forward from the knotter assembly 20 and also at the top of the vehicle body 14 is an embodiment of the blower assembly 22 of the present invention.

[0017] see now figure 2 and 3 , the blower device 22 will be described in detail. The blower assembly 22 includes a housing 24 that defines a width W1 corresponding to the working width W2 of the baler 10 ( figure 1 ). In this example, the working width W2 of the baler 10 corresponds to the width of the knotter device 20 and the width of the discharge chute ...

Abstract

A blower arrangement (22) for an agricultural baler (10) is disclosed. The blower arrangement (22), comprising: a housing (24) and a plurality of axially aligned centrifugal fans (26) positioned within said housing (24), said housing (24) including separate adjacent outlets (32) respectively associated with each of said fans (26). In order to improve the efficiency of a blower arrangement it is proposed that each of said adjacent outlets (32) being configured for directing a respective portion of an outlet flow toward at least one knotter assembly (30), and said housing (24) also including at least one additional outlet configured for directing a remaining portion of the outlet flow toward a different part of a baler (10). Furthermore, a baler (10) with said blower arrangement (22) is disclosed.

Description

technical field [0001] This invention relates to agricultural balers and, more particularly, to blower arrangements for such balers. Background technique [0002] Cut and collected crops such as hay, straw or other agricultural material that have been dried or otherwise prepared on-site, typically gathered, compressed and shaped by an agricultural baler. There are several types of balers in common use, each producing a different type of baler. Some bundles are rectangular and some bundles are cylindrical in various sizes. Bales can be tied using netting, strapping material, wire, or traditional baling wire. Balers that produce small rectangular bales commonly referred to as square bales tend to produce bales that are typically wound with two strands of knotted bale wire. The bales are light enough to be easily handled and typically weigh from 40 lbs to 80 lbs. The bales are formed by a series of processes performed by the rectangular baler, which include raising and layi...
