no. 1 approach

[0038] figure 1 It is a sectional view showing an interchangeable lens camera system to which the present invention is applied. The camera 1 is composed of a camera body 100 and an interchangeable lens 200 that can be attached to and detached from the camera body 100 .

[0039] The interchangeable lens 200 is provided with a photographing optical system including a plurality of lenses 202 , 203 , and 204 and a diaphragm 205 having an opening. A light beam from a subject enters the camera body 100 through the photographic optical system and the opening of the diaphragm 205 . In addition, in figure 1 In FIG. 3 , the photographing optical system is constituted by three lenses, but the photographing optical system may be constituted by a plurality of lenses. In addition, in figure 1 In the figure, the diaphragm 205 is provided between the lens 203 and the lens 204, but as known, the diaphragm 205 may be located in front or rear of the photographing optical system, or may be lo...

no. 2 approach

[0096] The camera system of this embodiment has the same figure 1 The camera system of the first embodiment shown has the same structure. The only difference from the first embodiment lies in the focus detection processing performed by the body control device 101 . Hereinafter, regarding this embodiment, differences from the first embodiment will be mainly described, and descriptions of other parts will be omitted.

[0097] Figure 10 (a) shows a subject image 43a having vertical stripes in the vertical direction. The vertical stripes included in the subject image 43 a are arranged at intervals of T1 in the horizontal direction, constituting a periodic pattern. When the subject image 43a is formed at a position separated to some extent from the predetermined focal plane 17, it is formed on the light receiving surface of the light receiving element array 12. Figure 10 Periodic pattern shown in (b). The body control device 101 applies the above-mentioned pattern matching t...

[0116] exist image 3 In the above, the case where the five light receiving element groups 14 a to 14 e arranged in the lateral direction are selected for focus detection is exemplified, but the light receiving element group 14 arranged in a line in other directions may also be selected. In addition, more than five or less than five light-receiving element groups 14 may be selected, and continuous light-receiving element groups 14 do not necessarily have to be selected. For example, light receiving element groups 14 arranged every other can be selected.

Abstract

A focus detection device comprises: a plurality of micro lenses that are placed in a two-dimensional shape where a light beam passing through an imaging optical system is incident; a plurality of light receiving elements that are respectively placed correspondingly to the plurality of micro lenses; a focus detection unit that detects the phase difference between a plurality of light beams which pass through another area of the imaging optical system based on the output of the plurality of light receiving elements and detects the defocus amount of the imaging optical system; and a recognition unit that recognizes the feature of a subject image formed on the plurality of light receiving elements by the plurality of micro lenses based on the output of the plurality of light receiving elements. The focus detection unit detects the defocus amount through a method suitable for the feature of the subject image recognized by the recognition unit.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a focus detection device, a focus adjustment device and a camera. Background technique [0002] There is known a so-called phase difference detection method in which a plurality of light receiving elements are arranged for each of two-dimensionally arranged microlenses and the amount of image shift of a subject image is detected based on the light receiving outputs of these plurality of light receiving elements. Focus detection device for focus detection. For example, Patent Document 1 describes a focus detection device that detects contrast in a plurality of directions and selects a direction to perform focus detection from among the plurality of directions based on the contrast.
