Benefits of technology

This patented technology allows us to accurately detect both lead, Cadmium or other heavy metallic substances found within certain materials such as polyethene terephthaltepside ("PET"). It does this by utilizing specific techniques called EDTA2NAHYALETTM® Complex Degradative Extractive Technique (EDTA2). These methods have been developed over several decades ago due to their ability to efficiently break down organics containing these compounds into smaller molecules without losing them altogether.

Problems solved by technology

This patented technical problem addressed by these inventors relates to improving accuracy in detecting harmful materials such as lead, Cadmium and Chromium without relying solely upon conventional analysis techniques like liquid scintillance.

Abstract

The present invention discloses a method for determining lead, cadmium, chromium and mercury in a plastic through EDTA-2Na complexation digestion. The method comprises: 1, preparing a detected sample, wherein EDTA-2Na is added to a sample solution and volume metering is performed to obtain the sample to be detected; 2, drawing a standard work curve, wherein prepared standard solutions with different concentrations are sequentially placed into an inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer, the standard work curve is drawn, and the corresponding linear regression equation is obtained according to the standard work curve; and 3, determining the detected sample, wherein the sample to be detected and obtained in the step 1 is tested, and the lead content, the cadmium content, the chromium content and the mercury content in the sample are calculated according to the linear regression equation. According to the present invention, with the EDTA-2Na complexation digestion method, the problem that the traditional wet digestion method can not determine the lead and the mercury in the plastic is solved; and with the method, the total content of the four elements such as lead, cadmium, chromium and mercury can be simultaneously and accurately determined, the detection accuracy and the detection precision can meet the detection requirements of the RoHS command, and the analysis results are effective and reliable.
