Abstract

The device for filling cavities with granular material comprises a conveyor belt (1) comprising orifices (10). The aperture is adapted to receive particulate material and for dispensing the particulate material through the aperture. The device also comprises a first guide wheel (2) and a second guide wheel (3) for conveying and guiding the conveyor belt. The first guide wheel and the second guide wheel are arranged at a distance from each other and such that the conveyor belt comprises a straight belt portion (12) arranged between the first guide wheel and the second guide wheel. Adjacent to the underside (11) of the conveyor belt is provided a retaining element (15) for retaining the aperture closed until it reaches a transfer position (100) at the first guide wheel. The holding element and the straight belt portion are additionally arranged to enable the granular material in the aperture to be dispensed through the open aperture at the transfer location, wherein the granular material is transferred to the conveyor belt via the first guide wheel.
