Abstract

The invention discloses a multimedia system and a method using same to control the environment. The system comprises a multimedia controller, a first play device, a hidden data decoder, and an environment control device. The method comprises the following steps: reading at least one multimedia file, encoding the multimedia file so as to generate at least one first signal, wherein the multimedia file comprises hidden data, and the first signal comprises a first hidden signal; playing the first signal; receiving the first signal, according to the first hidden signal in the first signal, generating an environment control signal, sending the environment control signal to the environment control device; and carrying out a series of environment control operations according to the environment control signal by the environment control device.
