Problems solved by technology

[0005] During the above message forwarding process, if VTEP B fails, it cannot respond to the message sent by terminal B, because the forwarding table (VNI, MAC address of terminal B, IP address of VTEP B) still exists on VTEP A item, VTEP A will continue to encapsulate the message sent by terminal A to terminal B, but terminal B cannot receive it, resulting in a black hole phenomenon, wasting the forwarding resources and link bandwidth of VTEP A

Embodiment Construction

[0052] In order to implement keep-alive detection for VTEPs in the VXLAN network, an embodiment of the present invention provides a VTEP keep-alive detection method, which is applied to each VTEP included in the VXLAN network. The architecture diagram of the VXLAN network is as follows figure 1 shown. The process flow of the inventive method is as figure 2 As shown, the execution steps are as follows:

[0053] S21: The process starts.

[0054] S22: Determine the role of the VTEP in the VXLAN network. If the role in the VXLAN network is a keep-alive detection slave, execute S23; if the role in the VXLAN network is a keep-alive detection master, execute S24.

[0055] The role of the VTEP in the VXLAN network can be a keep-alive detection slave or a keep-alive detection master. When performing VTEP keep-alive detection, it is first necessary to determine the role in the VXLAN network. An optional method, the VXLAN network includes at most A keep-alive detection host. When the...

Abstract

The invention discloses a VTEP (Virtual eXtensible Local Area Network Tunnel End Point) keep-alive detection method and device. The method comprises the following steps: determining the role of a VTEP; if the VTEP is a keep-alive detection slave, sending a probe request carrying an equipment identifier of the VTEP to a keep-alive detection host, and if a probe response that is returned from the keep-alive detection host and carries a survived VTEP information table is received within a first set period, updating the connection status of a VXLAN (Virtual eXtensible Local Area Network) tunnel between the VTEP and a first other VTEP in a VXLAN according to the survived VTEP information table; and if the VTEP is the keep-alive detection host, monitoring whether VTEPs corresponding to equipment identifiers in the survived VTEP information table are ineffective or not, deleting the equipment identifiers of the ineffective VTEPs, closing VXLAN tunnels between the VTEP and the ineffective VTEPs, receiving a probe request that is sent by a second other VTEP in the VXLAN and carries an equipment identifier of the second other VTEP, updating the survived VTEP information table and the connection status of a VXLAN tunnel between the VTEP and the second other VTEP according to the equipment identifier of the second other VTEP, and sending a probe response to the second other VTEP. The method and the device adopting the technical scheme have the advantage that keep-alive detection of the VTEPs in the VXLAN can be achieved.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of communication technology, in particular to a virtual extensible local area network tunnel terminal (VirtualeXtensible Local Area Network Tunnel End Point, VTEP) keep-alive detection method and device. Background technique [0002] Virtual Extensible Local Area Network (Virtual eXtensible Local Area Network, VXLAN) is an overlay (Overlay) network technology built on the Internet Protocol (Internet Protocol, IP) network, which uses Media Access Control (MAC) in (in) encapsulation by means of User Datagram Protocol (UDP), that is, encapsulating ordinary Ethernet packets in UDP packets, and transmitting ordinary Ethernet packets as UDP data. A VXLAN network is uniquely identified by a VXLAN Network Identifier (VNI). Terminals on VXLAN networks of different VNIs cannot communicate directly, and a VXLAN gateway route is required. [0003] Such as figure 1 The architecture diagram of the VXLAN network is shown, includin...
