[0020] Disclosed herein are systems, devices, and methods for automatically generating differential diagnosis decisions for HF deterioration, such as HF decompensation. The differential diagnosis decision may include a diagnostic score (each associated with a corresponding candidate condition such as HF worsening event, lung disease, atrial or ventricular arrhythmia, indication of surgery, or infection). The diagnostic score associated with a specific candidate condition can be generated using physiological signals or other physiological information obtained from the patient. The diagnostic score indicates the likelihood of pathophysiological manifestations (e.g., deteriorating patient state) caused by the candidate condition. The automatically generated differential diagnosis can be shown to end users in guiding patient treatment and management decisions.
